The problem occurs when an annotation attached to whitespace is removed: the annotation underline is still visible. 

The bug might be either in AbstractLineStyleProvider which create style ranges only for non-whitespace characters. Or it could be in the AnnotationPainter which does not create proper style ranges after removing annotations.
