Description DJ Houghton CLA 2010-08-16 11:02:34 EDT
Some items to add to the build documentation located here:
   http://wiki.eclipse.org/Platform-releng-basics

- what to do in case the build failed with "/builds/N201008152000/org.eclipse.releng.basebuilder/plugins/org.eclipse.pde.build_3.6.0.v20100603/scripts/genericTargets.xml:236: A problem occured while invoking the director."
- where are the log files located?

- which machine should we be checking? build.eclipse.org? local mirror? (I presume currently it is the local mirror)

- which unix permissions are required do perform certain tasks.

DJ I updated this section, let me know if you need more information

Looks good. Two things I would clarify:

- when I mentioned the location of the log files, I was referring to where on disk (in case the build didn't get far enough to produce the test results page)
For instance, should we be looking here?
   /builds/<buildId>/src/<buildId>/p2temp/equinox.p2.build/<someDir>
Or is there another location? Or perhaps different locations depending on the type of failure?

- I would be explicit and say all build tasks are run as kmoir on an internal machine. (if that's the case)
