WTP framework is unable to highlight errors for XML files that exist outside workspace.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Eclipse.
2. From the menu bar click on File menu.
3. Select Open File menu item
4. Select a XML file anywhere in your file system. Ensure the XML file is not selected from the workspace.
5. Make some errors in the XML file. It is expected that a red waved underling will appear but it does not happen.

Our Validation Framework doesn't support files existing outside workspace yet.ValidatorStrategy aborts for files outside workspace.I was able to get validators running by creating dummy linked file in a temporary project created just for files outside workspace.Nick , does it look like correct approach?

It looks like an enhancement.
