I sometimes get this NPE when creating a new mapping file. I think it only happens the first to you choose the mapping file wizard. Subsequent attempts work without the NPE

Would be good to fix for M1, but may not be enough time.

Reproducible when using the toolbar drop-down for creating the mapping file.

Just a problem when the initial initial selection is null.  Fixed and checked in to head.

Verified in build I-3.3.0-20100901095216

Verified that you can create a New Mapping File without receiving NPE errors.  Tested creating the New Mapping File via the toolbar drop-down, as well as other methods of creating the New Mapping File.
