Description Laurent Goubet CLA 2010-08-11 08:10:36 EDT
I'm a committer on both EMF/Compare and M2T/Acceleo, and I'd like to
1 - remove the never promoted builds that lie on the build server
2 - move the old builds from download.eclipse.org to archive.eclipse.org

As such I'd need write access to (server:path) :
1 - modeling.eclipse.org:/home/www-data/build/modeling/m2t/acceleo/
2 - modeling.eclipse.org:/home/www-data/build/modeling/emf/compare/

3 - download.eclipse.org:/home/data/httpd/download.eclipse.org/modeling/m2t/acceleo
4 - download.eclipse.org:/home/data/httpd/archive.eclipse.org/modeling/m2t/acceleo (this folder has to be created first... I think it's the appropriate place for archived Acceleo builds?)

I already have access to the download and archive areas for EMF Compare, yet there still is a little issue with those :

The "archive" folder for emf compare is misspelled : "/home/data/httpd/archive.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/compare/downloads/drop" where it should read "/home/data/httpd/archive.eclipse.org/modeling/emf/compare/downloads/drops" (last "s" for "drops"). Does that impact the web pages for download (I cannot test as it seems that currently the builds have only been copied, not moved)?

Let me know if I should raise separate bugs for the multiple issues here :p.

I've fixed 3,4 and 5. 1 & 2 will require one of the admins for the modeling server, not sure who that is beyond Nick.

Thanks, at least I can archive the old builds now, that'll be one thing done :). I'll wait for Nick's input for the removing of old builds on modeling.eclipse.org ^^

Hi again,

Seem like the permissions haven't been recursively applied all the way :

I have write access to
/home/data/httpd/download.eclipse.org/modeling/m2t/acceleo/downloads/drops/3.0.1

but not
/home/data/httpd/download.eclipse.org/modeling/m2t/acceleo/downloads/drops/3.0.1/S201008110958

and thus cannot remove the builds themselves from there; which raise another issue : will I have access to "new" builds as we create them?

At last count people with the root password included:

nickb, davidms, and estepper.

If someone else wants access, ask and I'll share it. Note that I don't check bugzilla very often anymore, so a direct email or ping on IRC/gtalk* is much faster.

Of course if you want to clean up files on the server, you can do this:

ssh lgoubet@modeling.eclipse.org
$ cd /home/www-data/build/modeling/emf/compare/
$ sudo -u apache bash

Thanks nick,

I found a way to tidy everything up, for now I'll do with my coworker's chmoding the files :). This bug can be closed as I have the necessary permissions now.

Fixed.
