One of the users of our RCP application is reporting that detaching a view then closing and reopening several times, it randomly appears docked or detached, without apparent reason.

Unfortunately I can't reproduce in a development environment and got no answers from the newsgroups, so I can't give more informations.

Reproducible: Sometimes

I've never seen this nor has it been previously reported. If you can get me some more info I might be able to do something...if not then it's unlikely to be worked on...
Comment 2 Mauro Molinari CLA 2014-08-08 09:35:49 EDT
In Eclipse Luna I20140606-1215, I tried to close and reopen a view many times, either docked or detached. When detached, I tried to close it either via the "X" button on its tab or via the "X" button of the detached window. In all cases, reopening the view (either via Window | Show View menu, or via Show View dialog, or via keyboard shortcuts) caused it to re-appear where it was closed (if its detached window was also closed, it got reopened too and the view was shown in it). I tested this on Windows 7.
So, unless there are specific steps to repro, I think this can be closed.

Thanks Mauro for the analysis. I assume this one was closed somewhere in the past so it is fixed. But as I don't have a reference to the commit, I mark it as worksforme in the latest release, even though this used to be a real bug in an older release.
