A WAR file that was created with the RAP Product Export contains a .eclipseproduct file at its root. AFAIK such a file isn't necessary for the WAR to function and should therefore not be contained.

Hi Rüdiger, 
I can't verify this problem. I tested the tooling with the latest version form CVS HEAD on Mac and Windows. On both systems no .eclipseproduct was created. I added a test to make sure the .eclipseproduct is not included. I will close this bug as WORKSFORME. If you can reproduce the bug please reopen it with a description of your environment. Thanks.

When running on PDE 3.7 M1, a .eclipseproduct is added to the WAR

An .eclipseproduct file is added for me too with Kepler M3.

I can't reproduce the issue with the current (Neon) builds.

Wild guess: your build configuration adds the .eclipseproduct file explicitly?

Since the bug was idle for almost 3 years and could not be reproduced earlier as well, I'll set it to WORKSFORME. If the issue persists, please REOPEN and attach a project that exports that extra file.
