The latest APIs for the proposed OSGi v4 r4.3 have been updated to add generics.  I will attach a patch that adds the new APIs and the modifications to the implementation.

bug 305259 is going to cause us some grief. Anyone with J2SE-1.4 settings in their project will start seeing strange errors.

After numerous test builds and fixing the necessary code in eclipse to compile against the new OSGi API I have decided to release this so it will get into the first I-Build for M2 next week.
