The Match Mode Dialog has an X in the top right corner. If this is used, a compare occurs anyway.

If the user decides to cancel comparison in the final dialog, compare editor will be opened anyway, but with empty Diff model. The following exception will be in the console.

We no longer throw exceptions when "x" is pressed ... though we still don't handle cancelling.

The match mode dialog does not exist anymore in 2.x.

Closing the bug : we are now focused on the 2.x stream.

Cancel as a whole is something we've totally overlooked... bug 326491 is planned for Kepler.
