Configuring a parallel application run configuration requires the user to set the sdm path. Not setting the sdm path shouldn't be an error since only a debug run (not a normal run) requires the sdm. 

Even better than requiring sdm not for normal runs but only for debug run, would be to automatically upload sdm. If the binary version would come with sdm compiled for linux x32/x64/ppc + aix/ppc then one would cover >95% of systems (using top500 as reference). Also dependencies wouldn't be a problem if it is compiled against glibc <=2.3. I would assume that build.eclipse.org has a cross compile installed, thus compiling these as part of the head-less build shouldn't be difficult.
