Bug 320419

Summary: Description of method compatibility problem is wrong
Product: [Eclipse Project] PDE Reporter: Darin Wright <darin.eclipse>

Whiteboard: stalebug

Description Darin Wright CLA 2010-07-20 12:31:22 EDT
On the "Preferences > Plug-in Development > API Errors/Warnings > API Compatibility" tab, under the "Method" category, there is an option for:

"The keyword 'final' has been added (type tagged @noextend)"

This implies that if the keyword 'final' is added to a method who's type is tagged @noextend a problem will be created. However, making a method final in a class that cannot be extended should be compatible. I think this should say 'type *not* tagged @noextend'?
Comment 1 Eclipse Webmaster CLA 2019-09-06 16:17:00 EDT
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

Please remove the stalebug flag, if this issue is still relevant and can be reproduced on the latest release.
