In my case, I would like to have a way to pop out editors from the workbench window as for views :) (In reply to comment #1) > In my case, I would like to have a way to pop out editors from the workbench > window as for views :) Frankly, I don't really care whether editors get be dragged out or not. I just want the behaviour to be consistent. Right now, it is not. ;) We also suffer a lot from the editor that can not be detached. We build huge and complex software, that even two big monitor is even not enough to show needed view/editor together (our customer also use different Linux desktop to manage these view/editor with multi monitor) When designing our UI, from basic principle , some components need to be designed as a eclipse editor. But as editor can not detached, we use view for workaround. OF course, a new workbench window can be used, but it is just some workaround, and not good workaround. I believe many other users has the same problem when their product is large and complex enough. Strongly request to provide a detachable editor! This can probably be closed.
