Description Gary Karasiuk CLA 2010-07-16 08:53:04 EDT
Steps to reproduce:

1) Start with an empty workspace
2) Create a simple project
3) Import -> General -> File System

Select a file at the root of a big disk drive (as shown in the attached screen shot) and then either pressed the Advanced button or Finish.

The UI will hang for hours, as the workbench will examine every file on the disk (to determine if they have all been selected).

I thought we made some enhancements to performance here but that might've been another wizard.

I checked this against Eclipse 3.4.2 ... and it works fine there, so this is a regression w.r.t. that release.
Comment 4 Gary Karasiuk CLA 2010-07-16 12:47:10 EDT
This is also a regression w.r.t. Eclipse 3.5
Comment 5 Dani Megert CLA 2010-07-19 09:18:55 EDT
I can confirm this: It's impossible to import a single file and the workbench has to be killed.
