I am using a remote git depo and I would like to sych through git protocol but push through ssh. Now for every push I have to set-up a custom URI.

Please have a look at http://wiki.eclipse.org/EGit/User_Guide#Remote_Repositories

You have two options to achieve the desired behaviour:

- You can create a direct push support on your existing remote repo (see "Direct Fetch and Push Support")
- You can even create a new remote only for pushing. Then you can easily choose in the push dialog which remote you want to push to.

Btw.: Your scenario is exactly the same that is used by the EGit/JGit team.
