Bug 319873

Summary: [CommonNavigator] "Rename" option doesn't work for closed project but is in menu
Product: [Eclipse Project] Platform Reporter: anon <llampak>

Status: CLOSED WONTFIX QA Contact:
Severity: minor
Priority: P3 CC: francisu
Version: 3.6
Target Milestone: ---

OS: All
Whiteboard: stalebug

Description anon CLA 2010-07-14 11:51:26 EDT
Build Identifier: M20100211-1343

Renaming projects requires them to be opened. But the option is still in the menu if the project is closed.

It should not be displayed, be greyed out, pop up a dialogue with a warning immediately after being clicked or open the project for a second.

It's a minor issue but it's irritating when it lets you type a new name and then it says "you've done it the wrong way, now please close me, open the project, open me again and re-type what you've typed".

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create any project
2. Close it
3. Right click it, select Rename
4. Type anything and click OK

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
