Verified in 4.1 build: I20110515-0800: it works but no indication in the status line. Is this deliberate?

Accessing the status line from the key assist is not currently supported (it's just a current state, not a deliberate plan). It will be addressed in 4.2.

Is this still planned? Is there a bug for it?
