Thread dump taken after Helios freezes.
I wanted to add that I'm seeing behavior that's almost identical to what Silvio reports.
Running Windows 7 x64, a 64-bit JVM and 64-bit Helios results in Eclipse locking up completely after a few minute's worth of activity. I can reproduce this problem farily readily by launching Eclipse, creating a new Java project, adding a new class, entering something simple like System.out.println("hello world"), running it, then deleting the project. Generally Eclipse will freeze before the delete process finishes.
This is a stock download of Eclipse Helios, the only change is that I've downloaded all of the Web Development features from within the application.
Per the Wiki, I've generated a thread dump once it locks up.
moving to the platform guys, hopefully they will be able to provide feedback about it. Thanks! (In reply to comment #4) > Likely a dup of bug319514. Really seems to be a dup of bug319514. I tried the advices mentioned in the Wiki article and now it works. Think, this one can be closed. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 319514 *** |
Created attachment 173999 [details] Eclipse errorlog with JRE 6 U-21 installed Hello, after installing JDK 6 Update 21, i'm not able to start Eclipse (Helios) x64. It starts up, but then it hangs up and is only killable by Task Manager. It is definitely the JRE 1.6 u21. After reinstalling the JDK 6 Update 20 with it`s JRE it is running quite well. Bye
