We, the packagers of Eclipse for Debian and Ubuntu, build eclipse against a newer version of lucene than specified in the manifest file. Please relax lucene dependency to allow lucene 2 (Patch attached).

The reason we have not done this in the past is explained in Bug 298510. For Eclipse 3.7 we should be able to relax this restriction and move up to Lucene 2.x.
