This bug is for backporting the fix for bug 299538 to Eclipse 3.6.1. As soon as the original bug gets verified we will backport it.

Since we're in RC2, I need another committer to review the fix as well as a +1 from Szymon. The additional reviewer can be the component lead since he didn't make the fix.
