The same behavior was reported here a year ago: http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=msg&th=163641&#msg_517901

I have several Ecore diagrams for the same ecore model. Once in a while it happens after saving a diagram that the progress view reports the following:
"Synchronizing EMF resources"

The bad thing is that a cancelation request never will be granted so you only can kill the eclipse instance.

The problem is that you can't re-produce the behavior. Doing the same action doesn't always raise this message. It occures randomly.

Reproducible: Sometimes

This problem is still present. also in Eclipse Kepler
Comment 2 Cedric Brun CLA 2014-01-06 08:19:06 EST
It is no longer true with EcoreTools 2.0.
