The fast view looks to heavy to me. Most likely due to the thick borders.
Comment 1 Dani Megert CLA 2010-06-17 11:38:50 EDT
This should be fixed for 1.0 since we want to show off the new features/LAF and hence that should be polished.
Comment 2 Eric Moffatt CLA 2010-06-17 15:05:12 EDT
I'm not sure how much control we actually have over the width of the sizing borders (it's likely platform dependent). I'll check with Bogdan...

Well, it looks good in 3.7 (more lightweight, less borders), hence I expect that the same lightweight look can be achieved in 4.0 as well.
Comment 4 Eric Moffatt CLA 2010-06-21 13:22:50 EDT
Note that in 3.7 it's a simple Composite with completely custom sizing behavior...in 4.0 it's a shell with size borders. We likely won't have time to address this pre-release.
Comment 5 Eric Moffatt CLA 2010-06-21 14:58:57 EDT
This appears to have deeper issues on the Mac:

The only resize affordance is on the bottom/right (i.e. useless for right docked stacks)

Since the owner of the minimized stack is a Shell the menus disappear

I'll try to redo this using a composite as the host and providing the custom resize handling...

I don't know the e4 way for this but maybe you could use a PopupDialog?

I've actually committed the changes for this defect in bug 315290.

There is now a Composite hosting the minimized stack. It will be fixed onto one of the four corners of the main presentation (the one nearest to the minimized stack's toolbar) and can be resized but not moved.

I'll mark this as fixed but feel free to re-open it if there are still issues.
