Summary: menu icon size should use system icon size
Product: [Eclipse Project] Platform Reporter: Archimedes Trajano <developer>
Component: SWTAssignee: Platform-SWT-Inbox <platform-swt-inbox>
Status: RESOLVED WONTFIX QA Contact:
Severity: normal
Priority: P3 CC: prakash, skovatch
Version: 3.6
Target Milestone: ---
Hardware: Macintosh
OS: Mac OS X - Carbon (unsup.)
Whiteboard:

Description Archimedes Trajano CLA 2010-06-14 16:07:13 EDT
Build Identifier:

The menu icon uses the icon image size rather than the system icon size.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
If you define a PNG file as the icon in org.eclipse.ui.menus, on the mac it uses the icon as is rather than scaling it down to the system icon size which should be determined on the fly rather than hard coding it.

There really isn't a 'system icon size' for menu items in Cocoa. [NSMenuItem setImage:] will use whatever icon you specify, and will adjust the size of the item to match. If you want a smaller image you have to provide a smaller image.
