Description Christopher Deckers CLA 2010-06-14 15:16:01 EDT
Currently, there is no on-line SWT-only Javadoc. The SWT API is mixed with other Eclipse-related API and help in the all-in-one online documentation tree.

Such simple Javadoc should have the expected Javadoc format for Javadoc-consuming tools to work (like the incremental Javadoc search web browser extension that saves me a lot of time).

This bug is a follow up to the discussion carried on the SWT dev list. Relevant posts:

Bog & FH, can we add javadoc generation to our automatic build?

As a workaround, this link can be used for now.

http://help.eclipse.org/galileo/advanced/content.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.platform.doc.isv/reference/api/index.html

PS: You may see error saying script is taking too long, so whenver the browser gives you option to stop the script, do that.

That is definitely going into the right direction!

Could the content.jsp be modified so that "the script" does not run when called directly without the surrounding frames?

I added a pointer to the workaround link suggested in comment 2.
You can now see this under the heading "Generated Javadoc" on this page:
http://www.eclipse.org/swt/javadoc.php

If you figure out a way to stop launching the script, please let me know.

Of course, even though it is the typical format javadoc, it is still all of Eclipse, so this bug needs to stay open to generate only the SWT javadoc.
Ideally this should be generated with every SWT build.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

There is currently no releng capacity to handle this and 12 years passed without anyone acting on it.
