Just installed 0.8.1 from the update site.

Right click on a file > Team  - no show history action.
Oddly there's a Show Local History action under the Team menu... 

You can get to the local history with Compare With > History... 
This action brings up the History View rather than brining up some "Compare with" dialog (which is consistent with CVS).

As a comparison:
  - both the CVS tooling and Subclipse have Team > Show History. 
  - CVS Compare With > History behaves the same as egits. Subclipse overrides compare with to provide a special view for selecting version.

I suggested this before while filing bug 311249.

My opinion has not changed and agree with James that this menu item needs to be added back.
