It compiles fine with pde.build but the resulting bundle is giving 
Caused by: java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find bundle for base name org.eclipse.jgit.JGitText, locale en_US
when you try to use it. This is caused by resources missing as a source folder in the org.eclipse.jgit/build.properties.
The following line:
source.. = src/
should become:
source.. = src/,resources/

I'm going to look at fixing this for 0.8.2 as this is important to Red Hat.

Merged into stable-0.8

The next step will be to kick off a new build.
