What hardware/OS is this running on? I don't see anything suspicious in the thread dump. The ant task is trying to scan a directory, so perhaps it is just appearing to be hanging on a slow I/O operation.

PC(Xeon CPU with 3.00GB ram)/Win XP SP2

I really doubt that the I/O operation would take up to 20 minutes.
(That's the max I waited)

Every time a cancel request is issued, it can't be completed & an eclipse force close is needed.

Are there any other info i could give to help debugging this issue?

Thanks

Hangs like this have been the result of recursive symlinks (commonly on mac: bug 315032, bug 276005). This is not likely on windows.

Another possibility is something like bug 143498, where an incorrect value like '/' in a plug-in's build.properties file can lead to scanning the entire hard drive.
