I released a new file called p2_api_overview.htm. Susan feel free to fill it in.

fixed in HEAD >20100602.
I didn't add a lot about operations here, I mostly pointed to the javadoc classes that are relevant, because they have good code snippets.

However i did do some liberal editing of this entire file for formatting, fixing broken links, general editing....

I also added a link to this overview to hte topics_guide.xml

Pascal, if you think we need more about operations, let me know.  Rather than copy all the examples from the javadoc, I just pointed to them.
