Description Anthony Hunter CLA 2010-05-31 13:26:21 EDT
"Something happened" with EMF.Query, EMF.Transaction and EMF.Validation on the foundation portal.

Each of these projects have empty project metadata, say there is no active committers, and the project details have been lost.
http://www.eclipse.org/projects/project_summary.php?projectid=modeling.emf.transaction
http://www.eclipse.org/projects/project_summary.php?projectid=modeling.emf.query
http://www.eclipse.org/projects/project_summary.php?projectid=modeling.emf.validation

I cannot explain this as at worst everything from earlier in the year should be there.

I committed all the license changes several weeks ago so I should definitely be a recent active committer on each of these projects.

Is there some tweak that we can restore the data on the portal that used to be there? I would rather not have to enter it all again.

Yikes. I am investigating.

The portal database only contains information about participation in the simultaneous release. All other info seems to have disappeared.

Sorry, but I have to ask... are you sure that you entered data specifically for these projects?

I actually have a snapshot (taken at the end of February) of all the project data. I have no information for any of these projects in that snapshot. Should I?

Webmaster, I don't see any pattern here to explain how this specific data has disappeared. Any idea how this might relate to any recent server work? (I can't see how, but have to ask). Is there a backup that we can check?

FWIW, the lack of active committers can be explained by the missing repository information. Without this information, Dash can't gather the stats we use.

We can restore a recent backup, but that is fairly time consuming and still won't tell us how the data disappeared. Data loss due to recent server work is unlikely, and would affect Bugzilla, Wiki, and other data-driven sites.

Is this data difficult to re-enter (assuming it was once there)?

Ok, I will have to enter the data.

http://www.eclipse.org/projects/ip_log.php?projectid=modeling.emf.transaction has errors right now due to missing project metadata, we would not have been able to submit last year.

Maybe we did not submit an IP Log using he foundation last year.
