1:When creating new test assets, put a single "(space)" as name, the
error message shows as: " The name cannot begin with a period (.). "

2:The error messages that appear while user specifies invalid characters as name (while creating new test assets)is different than those seen in a renaming scenario. 
For example: when creating new test asset and specify "(space)a" as name would
prompt error message "The name is invalid.", where as setting the same name
while renaming would show "The name contains invalid characters"

the error message for different projects with "invalid" characters are different, i.e, for projects with "!", "(", ")", """,  the message is "The parent folder is invalid", whereas others have "The project folder contains the following invalid character "(character)",

side side note: it affects creation of all test assets and tests

This defect had been resolved as WONTFIX for more than 1 month.  Closing this on the reporter's behalf.  Please re-open if you have further comment on this issue.
