When an Eclipse-Application (I am developing an rcp) contains wizards (import & export) only within one category - my app uses the standard ones from the org.eclipse.ui.ide-plugin - the wizard selection page does not show the category as a folder, which holds the registered wizards but in the root.
The fact that the category is not shown seems ok to me, however, when wizards within this single category are filtered via activities, they still show up in the selection dialog.
I would expect them to be filtered.
If a second category is added, the different folders for the categories are shown and the filtering works as expected.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a simple rcp, that contains only extension to import/export wizard extension page within a single category
2. Create activities to filter a registered wizard from that category
3. Trigger the wizard (import/export/ not tested for new) selection page.
The filtered wizard shows up.

Do you include the ide plugin in your RCP app? Is there anything in your workspace/.metadata/.log (possibly undefined categories)?

Yes, I use the
- org.eclipse.ui.ide plugin, as well as the
- org.eclipse.ui.ide.application
in my rcp app.

The log has no entry.

Meanwhile I migrated to Helios. Problem still occurs with latest release (sr1).

Please attach the XML you use in the simple RCP app to include your wizards as well as filter them.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
