Description

In RC1, solutions that have already been installed will show up in the list but have an 'Uninstall' button. I personally like this solution, since people might start to ask why something isn't listed, when they already have it installed. If you agree, please close. Well I'm a bit unsure. Imagine an installation where all the top 6 solutions are already installed. In this case the "Popular" tab would show only installed items and the tab would not be of much use. (In reply to comment #2) > Well I'm a bit unsure. Imagine an installation where all the top 6 solutions are > already installed. In this case the "Popular" tab would show only installed > items and the tab would not be of much use. This is consistent with how other app stores work (eg: Android Market, iPhone App Store) In part this is a technical problem: without sending the server the installation profile of the client, it's impossible to filter installed solutions server-side. Filtering installed solutions client-side is also problematic because you'd end up with searches that complete successfully that display no results. I suggest that we close this one as won't fix. The project team has agreed that it is important to keep Installed solutions listed but show then as Installed. |
