Description

If i understand correctly you're looking for a PHP snippet that will always return a link to the latest release version of a certain packages. Example, if you were to call it right now you would get a link to a package for Galileo SR2. After helios is released you would call it and get a link to the Helios package. Is this correct? (In reply to comment #1) > If i understand correctly you're looking for a PHP snippet that will always > return a link to the latest release version of a certain packages. Yepp, but not only to the latest version, it should also take into account which platform I am working on. E.g. if I am working on a 64-bit Linux, it should link to the 64-bit Linux download, etc. similar to the standard download page. Ok, setting target to Helios (In reply to comment #3) > Ok, setting target to Helios Missed the boat on this one i guess. We do need some kind of latest file URL magic generator thing-a-ma-bob. This would make alot of things easier. Hopefully Indigo gives me that time. > Hopefully Indigo gives me that time.
Bump?
See also the discussion I had with Wayne Beaton in Bug 426377. It comes from a different corner (PMI Download tab), but I goes in the same direction. This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie. We would have the same requirement. The simple solution would be a static link on Eclipse.org, which redirects to the download page of a specific EPP. You could just use a re-direct and change the link after every release. e.g. https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-modeling-tools/latest => https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-modeling-tools/neon1a Same requirement here: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=426377 *** Bug 426377 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** @Christopher or Webmaster in general: Could you kindly indicate, whether you plan to provide such a redirect? This BR has been open for over 6 years now. So I think it is time for a "will do" or "wont fix" Thanks in advance! I agree that after 6 years we are in the 'wontfix' state. -M. Thank you for the feedback. I am curious: Who is "M."? (In reply to Jonas Helming from comment #13) > Thank you for the feedback. > > I am curious: Who is "M."? I am one of your friendly neighbourhood webmasters. I'm Matt and this is is the other webmaster Denis and the other webmaster Derek |
