Description
jhorgan
jhorgan, simply put, why would you expect that our Helios release version of WTP (3.2) would be compatible with the Galileo base? When you pull down eclipse-jee-galileo-SR2-win32, you get WTP 3.1.2, which is the Galileo SR2 release of WTP. Moving to WTP Releng (but this will probably be closed as invalid). actually, it is a valid report Sort of. We've said we don't officially support that kind of cross-release upgrade, but we wanted people to test it, since it should/could work, and we'd like to know if it does or not. In the past, people never could due to Platform limitations. They believe all those limitations are now gone. So, probably worth looking at. There may be a "lower level" range tolerance that is invalid? But, as I said, we don't officially support so probably won't fix, so much as document the reasons why not. Thanks for the report. Oh, wait ... how did you install RC1? The way to do it (if it would work at all) is to install/update from the Helios central repository. It definitely wouldn't work to install only WTP on top of galilleo Java EE IDE. Try adding this to your list of available software sites, http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios/ on a galileo version, and see if "update" works? (If you want to help test this unsupported migration path :) I've heard other have success going through repository, so assuming you just unszipped some things |
