The SDO serialization algoritm uses XMLHelper to save the DataObject as XML.  If an XMLAttachmentMarshaller is set then XML message will contain hooks for the binary attachments.  Then de-serialzation fails as there is no corresponding XMLAttachmentUnmarshaller.

For the purposes of RMI serialzation the DataObject should not use attachments.
