Are you behind proxies?
Could you try the eclipse RC1 build: http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse and tell us what you get. Thx.

Yes, I was behind a proxy, sorry.
In the Windows version Eclipse is configured alone, in the Ubuntu version you must configure manually.
As I was testing on two virtual machines (Windows / Ubuntu) on the same host machine, I did not notice the error.
