If http://dev.eclipse.org/ipzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=4027 cannot be approved, then Virgo will not be able to ship with jline. The purpose of this bug is to consider alternatives, choose which alternative to take, and to track the implementation of the chosen alternative.

The basic fall-back position is to revert to using the Equinox console. Unfortunately, the Equinox console supports neither command history not tab completion. So reverting to the Equinox console would be a retrograde step for usability.

Note that OSGEye (http://code.google.com/p/osgeye/) depends on jline and so is not a valid alternative to jline.
