The bug 311415 implemets a solution to classify the content of an element in categoriy through the class structure. It could be convenient to allow the element creation via the context menu. 

The New context menu should open a dialog in which we should provide the required information in order the new element can be rendered immediately.

In light of WB, VDE is not supported anymore.
