Follow these steps:

Create class diagram.
Add Entity1 to class diagram
Add Entity2 to class diagram
Rename Entity2 to "Entity1 ". Not the extra whitespace character at the end.

This results in the class diagram containing two artifacts called "Entity1" but in the explorer you still Entity1 and Entity2.

Rename should not allow whitespace

There was an extra "trim()" on the string that was triggering this faulty behavior. Now the value is rejected.
