(In reply to comment #0) > (both cases using Parasoft C++ Test 7.3) Please try with 3.6M7. http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/ Also, please attach the crash file (hs_err_<pid>.log for Sun VM, for example). PW Created attachment 167160 [details]
This is the file I am importing on linux when eclipse crashes.
I have to reboot linux to grab the crash file. So it may be an hour or two before I have the opportunity to do that.
This may possibly be caused by bug 308270. Created attachment 167170 [details]

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 308270 *** I want to try with 3.6M7 -- however, I am very new to eclipse. How do I install 3.6M7? I have downloaded and extracted: eclipse-platform-3.6M7-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz but I am not sure if this is all I need and how do I upgrade? The readme file shows a section 3.2.8 Platform - Install/Update; but this seems to be specifically geared to windows. The Eclipse we are running is a Parasoft flavor 7.3.1.56. How do I > install 3.6M7? > > I have downloaded and extracted: > eclipse-platform-3.6M7-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz Just get eclipse-SDK-3.6M7-linux-gtk.tar.gz and import your preferences and see if the crash occurs. > The Eclipse we are running is a Parasoft flavor 7.3.1.56. You would have to first figure out which version of Eclipse this product is based on. Eclipse Platform Version: 3.6.0.v20100121-9hF71GITFufnsj44XsigdRiv20ClbUb3ou Build id: I20100129-1300 (In reply to comment #11) > Eclipse Platform > > Version: 3.6.0.v20100121-9hF71GITFufnsj44XsigdRiv20ClbUb3ou > Build id: I20100129-1300 You need to use p2 to try and update then. http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_Project_Update_Sites got eclipse-SDK-3.6M7-linux-gtk.tar.gz unrolled it and double-click on eclipse 61.5 kb executable and nothing happens. Notes say I also need a 1.4.2 JRE, but don't see that on the download list. Sorry, I didn't notice you're on a 64-bit system, get the 64-bit build instead. I was able to download and import my preferences successfully with the 64 bit version, except there was no c++ tab in the preferences. So now the next step is how do I integrate this with Parasoft?? http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_Project_Update_Sites It appears all the links on this page are broken. (In reply to comment #15) > I was able to download and import my preferences successfully with the 64 bit > version, except there was no c++ tab in the preferences. The Eclipse SDK doesn't come with C/C++ tooling, so that would be why. > http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_Project_Update_Sites > It appears all the links on this page are broken. I hope you're not trying to feed those links into the browser. That is not what they're for. Use the provisioning system under the 'Help' menu or ask Parasoft for assistance. We do not know if their code will run on these newer versions of Eclipse, you should check with them. I might be able to get Parasoft to give us a new build based on 3.6M7 |
