Xtext encourages the use of imports of platform:/resource/... and platform:/plugin/...

Bug 219742 identified that Ecore's interchangeable support for these is only provided when EcorePlugin.computePlatformURIMap is used.

Perhaps Xtext and related tools should do so too.

Xtext encourages the use of platform:/resource or the ePackages nsURI. We do not encourage platform:/plugin because the uris do not work in a standalone mode. 
(A plain java process does not know about the actual jars and bundle names that are necessary to populate the map).
