Description Brendan Dougherty CLA 2010-04-29 14:18:16 EDT
Build Identifier: 20100218-1602

attempting to install Buckminster Core in eclipse UI from:
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/buckminster/updates-3.5

fails with:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
  Software being installed: Buckminster - Core 1.3.0.r11395 (org.eclipse.buckminster.core.feature.feature.group 1.3.0.r11395)
Missing requirement: Buckminster Ant Plug-in 1.2.360.r11210 (org.eclipse.buckminster.ant 1.2.360.r11210) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.equinox.p2.metadata 2.0.0' but it could not be found
  Cannot satisfy dependency:
    From: Buckminster - Core 1.3.0.r11395 (org.eclipse.buckminster.core.feature.feature.group 1.3.0.r11395)
    To: org.eclipse.buckminster.ant [1.2.0,1.3.0)

The plugin appears to depend on org.eclipse.equinox.p2.metadata v 2.0.0, but I have version 1.0.101.R35x_v20100112 in my eclipse installation (3.5.2).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. add Buckminster update site: http://download.eclipse.org/tools/buckminster/updates-3.5
2. attempt to install Buckminster Core

The update site has returned to normal operation today. The issue is no longer valid, so I'm closing it myself.

Judging from the entries in http://download.eclipse.org/tools/buckminster/archivedsites-3.5, it looks like the site was temporarily providing Buckminster 1.2.xxx rather than 1.1.xxx
