Description Ralf Sternberg CLA 2010-04-19 16:58:57 EDT
The sandbox has become a place for components that are maintained by the RAP project but are not part of the official build. The name sandbox does not reflect this intention.

With the move from CVS to Git, the sandbox is gone. The sandbox directory has not been moved to Git because
a) it did not fit into the structure (bundles, features, tests directories)
b) it was hard to understand the distinction between sandbox and incubator
c) Wayne assured me that the incubator project is the right place to host such components, even if they are not meant to graduate
d) most sandbox components are obsolete, none of them is actively maintained

The sandbox components are still available from the read-only CVS. If there is interest in a particular component *and* someone agrees to maintain it, we can create an Incubator component for it.
