Any news here? In addition, it would be very helpful if the same title as in the task editor window could be used, e.g. "306053: Task Trim widget should have configurable size of en..." Currently, I just see: "Task Trim widget should have configurable size of en..." In this way, I could see the task ID _before_ switching to the task. It looks the activation history is the only place that doesn't show the task id now. I am not sure where we ended up with that discussion last time but we could certainly consider making the label consistent with the task list and search. I not sure that we would want to add a preference for the size of the task history since we generally aim to minimize the number of settings: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Mylyn/UI_Design#Avoid_Preferences . What size would you prefer for the activation history? (In reply to comment #3) > It looks the activation history is the only place that doesn't show the task id > now. What size would you > prefer for the activation history? OK, I admit that too many preferences can get an annoyance. The current size of 16 mostly fits good and increasing it to e.g. 32 would make the window too large. So would it possible to have a sub-menu on the bottom which gives access to another 16 history entries? Alternatively, a dedicated view for an activation history or to have it in the Task List would be helpful. Possibly bug 192485: add sort by last modified date to Task List would help here. In this way, I could get the last activated tasks in the Task List. (In reply to comment #4) > In addition, could you also consider giving an ID for local tasks? We should track that on a separate bug. Right now IDs are not shown since they can't be used to reference tasks across workspaces as tasks are local to one workspace. Also IDs are reused when local tasks are deleted and hence a reference may become stale over time. > So would it possible to have a sub-menu on the bottom which gives access to > another 16 history entries? A history presentation in the Task List could work, too, or a dialog that shows a list of tasks sorted by last activation. Are there any plans to add sorting by activation history to the Task List provider(s)? > Are there any plans to add sorting by activation history to the Task List

No plans so far but we are planning to look at the presentations at some point in this release cycle and I'll keep that in mind.
Thanks, Steffen. Mylyn has been restructured, and our issue tracking has moved to GitHub [1]. We are closing ~14K Bugzilla issues to give the new team a fresh start. If you feel that this issue is still relevant, please create a new one on GitHub. [1] https://github.com/orgs/eclipse-mylyn |
