After installing the new GWT plugin, my java perspective got messed up. It wouldn't show anything. The perspective button in the top right change to "<java>". One other perspective got messed up too, but I forgot which. My C/C++ one still worked, but I couldn't open java files from it. Unfortunately I didn't save the error I was getting but I think it was something about the registry.

I tried removing the new plugin, removing and reinstalling the jdt plugin, switching to a new workspace, moving away my home/.eclipse/org.eclipse... directory and reinstalling jdt, running with -clean, and nothing helped. Now even though I have jdt installed, I don't have the java perspective available, can't create java projects, and can't view java files.

Any ideas as to what went wrong or how I can fix it? It'd be awesome if the fix allows me to move my old settings dir back into place, but I'll be happy with any solution that lets me get eclipse working again with the default settings.

Thanks so much.

Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce

Steps to Reproduce:
I don't think I could reproduce this broken state although the fact that java stuff is broken happens every time I run eclipse now.

I removed my old eclipse install and installed a fresh galileo sr2, moved home/.eclipse away, pointed it at a new workspace, and reinstalled my plugins and it's working now. I guess the bug should be closed as CRAZYSHIT but that's not an option :-)
