Description ekkehard gentz CLA 2010-02-20 04:46:57 EST
it's a usual case to do the following:

* create a new repository (anywhere local)
* select one or more eclipse projects and add them to this repository

at the moment this can be done only using commandline

another scenario:

there are 3 repositories:
R: a remote repository
L: a local repository
W: cloned repository in workspace

now I want to do:
add/check to W (works well)
push from W into L or push W into R (works well)
pull from L into W or from R into W (I didn't find the pull cmd, only fetch - open another bugzilla)
and now what I need, but works only from commandline:
push from L to R or pull from R into L

think to provide this behavior there should be a git repository management perspective
Comment 1 Matthias Sohn CLA 2010-02-26 04:09:31 EST
The reason why pull isn't yet available:
- pull is fetch + merge or fetch + rebase
- we are currently working on integration of merge into the UI
  (Stefan and Christian)
- rebase is not yet implemented

this asks for enhancements
Comment 4 Mykola Nikishov CLA 2010-03-16 05:37:21 EDT
There is nothing OS- or platform-specific.
Comment 5 Lars Vogel CLA 2012-02-27 03:49:07 EST
Pull is implemented in EGit, I think this bug can be closed.
