Description David M. Karr CLA 2009-12-11 11:11:37 EST
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.5) Gecko/20091102 Firefox/3.5.5
Build Identifier: 20090920-1017

Quite often I will switch to a task, then use Ctrl-e to switch to an existing, but not visible editor, and it will display the tab, but the editor contents are blank (grey). I then switch to another editor pane, then back to the one that was grey, and now it's fine. I've done this numerous times, but it doesn't happen all the time.

I checked the .metadata/.log file, and I didn't notice anything that was obviously relevant. At the time I saw an instance of this happen, I had some files in my project that were out of sync with the file system, because I had done a build outside of Eclipse which wrote to some directories that are visible to Eclipse. None of the files that were out of sync were files that I was viewing in the editor.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have one task with enough editors to have the ">>N" icon show up.
2. Switch to another task.
3. Switch to the first task.
4. Do Ctrl-e. Select an editor that's not currently visible.
5. If the bug happens, the editor pane will be grey.
6. Switch to another editor.
7. Switch back to the "grey" editor.
8. It now looks normal, showing the editor content.
