This bug is for tracking the changes to org.elcipse.ui.ide in the R3_6_api_branch.  We are up to date as of now, which includes Ian and Simon's last changes.

This patch wouldn't apply to the latest IDE in the branch (not sure why).  At any rate, the changes were straightforward so I made them manually and released to branch.
