As far as I can follow, there has been quite a few discussions in this newsgroup
on what kinds of changes might be better for editor presentation. For my part,
I'd like to see an easier way to manage a large number of editor windows and
better handling of browsing through packages, classes and methods in Java (or
other constructs contributed by different plugins). There has to be a way to use
a single editor window for a number of different editor inputs. Conversely, the
idea of "pinning" editors to inputs to make sure the content of a particular
window stays the same is very useful and should go hand in hand with the
previous item. A browser-like history with pulldowns that show both classes and
members (useful when you browse through a class using the outline) recently
visited along with keyboard shotcuts available anywhere in the window (Alt+left
and Alt+right is pretty much standard) should be in the platform. 

Somewhat related to this, the package view  in JDT could use an optional two
pane configuration to list packages and classes seperately. There is too much
scrolling right now, especially in a project with a large number of classes.
