Since expand items can not be selected, but only expanded and collapsed, they should not use the selection color.
When expand items contain list widgets (e.g. Examples demo), it is otherwise hard to tell what is actually selected, the expand items or the list items.

Maybe the expand items could have a background gradient, like Table headers. Could you check this with the business & fancy drafts, Holger?

Bug 294611 should be considered when fixing this one.

I allready discussed this with Rüdiger and I will fix this bug within this week.
