The Model Explorer doesn't allow for instance to open a file, create a new file, create a project (as it is done in the Project Explorer)...

You have to add *org.eclipse.ui.navigator.resources* plugin dependency and to use the following extension points:
- *viewerActionBinding* and includes of org.eclipse.ui.navigator.resources

- *viewerContentBinding* and includes of: org.eclipse.ui.navigator.resources, org.eclipse.ui.navigator.resourceContent and org.eclipse.ui.navigator.resources.*

Thibault will submit a patch ASAP.
